Inspirations from New York City #5

I found these in a Forever 21 located on Union Square. They are made out of pages from old books.

Inspirations from New York City #4

This is very similar to a Tord Boontje piece. LOVE this. Metal di-cuts of leaves and flowers.

Inspirations from New York City #3

I love the architecture on this apartment building, reminds me of Europe. Great Color scheme as well.

Inspirations from New York City #2

Eddie Opara was awesome. :-)

Day 1 of Repeat, Repeat, Repeat Workshop

We did some quick rough pattern designs in class today. The method for creating these non-geometric patterns is surprisingly simple and delightfully fun. :-) Tomorrow we learn how to print these. (above roughs are drawn and then xeroxed.)

A Quote: Harold Rosenberg "The American Action Painters"

"The tension of the private myth is the content of every painting of this vanguard. The act on the canvas springs from an attempt to resurrect the saving moment in his 'story' when the painter first felt himself released from Value – myth of past self-recognition. Or it attempts to initiate a new moment in which the painter will realize his total personality – myth of future self-recognition."
